Privacy policy

Draft for review. This policy was written to match how this website actually works. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Please have it checked before you rely on it.

Who we are

This site is operated by The Wolves Limited, a company registered in New Zealand (NZBN 9429000000000). We are the “agency” that collects and holds the personal information described here, for the purposes of the Privacy Act 2020.

You can reach us at hello@the-wolves.co.nz about anything on this page.

What we collect, and why

When you book a conversation

The “Let's have a coffee” buttons take you to a Google Calendar appointment page. That page is operated by Google, not by us. Anything you enter there — typically your name, email address and whatever you tell us about your situation — is collected so that we can meet you and prepare for the conversation. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

When you email us

If you write to us, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply and keep track of the conversation.

Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use this site — which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from, and which devices they use. This helps us make the site better. It tells us nothing about you personally that you have not chosen to tell us.

Analytics only runs if you press Accept on the banner. Until then, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics script is loaded. If you press Decline, nothing is loaded and we will not ask again on that browser. We use Google Consent Mode, and we never enable Google's advertising features on this site.

Google Analytics processes this data on servers outside New Zealand, including in the United States. By accepting analytics you agree to that transfer. You can read how Google handles data in its advertising and measurement products (opens in a new tab).

Server logs

This site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records basic request information — IP address, time, page requested, browser type — for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify individuals.

What we do not do

Changing your mind about analytics

Your choice is stored in your browser, not on our servers, under the key tw-consent. To withdraw or change it, clear this site's data in your browser settings — the banner will then appear again on your next visit, and you can choose differently.

How long we keep things

We keep enquiry and booking correspondence for as long as we may reasonably need it for the relationship it belongs to, and for any period the law requires us to. Google Analytics data is retained for the shortest period Google offers, after which it is deleted automatically.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise — but we hold as little as we can, for as short a time as we can, which is the most effective protection there is.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, and to ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Write to hello@the-wolves.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request or your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz (opens in a new tab).

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
